OUR MISSION
We believe every child deserves a safe environment where they can learn, grow and thrive. As a community-based non-profit, Kids Incorporated of the Big Bend provides reliable and affordable childcare for at-risk families with children ages 0-3. Volunteers like you are a big part of making our mission a reality.
Each time an infant or toddler is enrolled in one of our programs, we begin a relationship with the entire family. Our founder, Elizabeth “Budd” Bell often said,
“Look at the family, not just the children.”
We want to see every child reach their full potential – and their families along with them.
Through our Early Head Start and Three and Pre Programs, our experienced staff equip families to learn and grow together. Would your like to contribute you time and energy toward our mission?
How to Apply for Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers must be at least 12 years of age and meet the standards set forth by the Department of Children and Families (DCF). Those not completing hours for school credit will be limited to 10 hours per month of direct service with the children, in accordance with DCF regulations.
To start the application process, please follow these steps:
- Complete the online Volunteer Application
- Complete the online Volunteer Packet
- Read the Volunteer Handbook
- Complete New Volunteer Orientation – orientation must be completed before first day of volunteering. Email our Volunteer Specialist Isabella today to schedule your online or in-person orientation! IKruger@KidsIncorporated.org
VOLUNTEER POSITIONS
- Classroom Assistant Volunteers assist with the daily activities of the classroom.
- Administrative Assistant Volunteers help with paperwork and other office duties.
- Outreach Volunteers help with directing community outreach and events.
- Group Volunteers – Beautification Service clean and organize classrooms.
- Family Services – assist with family communication, paperwork and meetings.
- Photography & Videography Interns take professional photos and videos to share our impact.
- Human Resource Interns assist with HR functions and internal reports.
INTERNSHIPS
In addition to volunteer opportunities, we offer a variety of internships for qualified students in the Big Bend area throughout the year.
