FAMILY EVENTS
KidsFest 2024
APRIL 20, 2024 at Cascade Park
A beloved family event celebrated in our community since 2001, our annual KidsFest is a day of free kids’ activities and entertainment for the whole family at Cascades Park in Tallahassee.
Over 65 businesses and nonprofits will be coming to Cascades Park. Each exhibitor will have a hands-on children’s activity for your child to enjoy FREE of charge. Admission, entertainment and all activities are completely free.
In addition to the exhibitor activities, sponsors will be helping Kids Incorporated bring some bigger attractions, which includes bike tracks, special characters, and fun water activities! KidsFest even has a completely separate Toddler Town area for the really littles so they don’t have to compete with the big kids. Need to take a break and sit for a bit? We will have the Cascades stage up and running with fun for the whole family!

THANKS FOR reADING
NOVEMBER
Research has shown that reading aloud to children from birth is the single most important activity to be done to help prepare them for reading and learning. Community leaders visiting our classrooms and reading to children helps us focus attention on the importance of reading to children. We ask parents of children enrolled in our Early Head Start centers to read to their child 15-to-20 minutes each and every day. It has become an event our children and staff enjoy and look forward to each year!
If you are interested in reading to the children in one of our classrooms as part of the Thanks for Reading Days family event, please contact Jillian Davis, Community Engagement Manager.
HOLIDAY HAPPINESS
DECEMBER
Holiday Happiness is a project Kids Incorporated has carried out for many years. It is designed to provide holiday gifts for Kids Incorporated’s client families whose children would not otherwise receive holiday gifts.
Businesses, organizations and individuals shop for family members during this family event, utilizing a wish list developed by the family with the assistance of a Kids Incorporated Family Advocate.
Unwrapped gifts are dropped off at a central location for the family members and someone from that family picks the items up and they wrap and give them out to their family members in accordance with their individual holiday tradition. It’s a terrific way for those who want to brighten the holidays for a needy family to do so and it means a great deal to the family members!
