INTERNSHIPS

We also offer a variety of internship opportunities for qualified students in the Big Bend area throughout the year.

Family Advocate Intern

We are looking for candidates in psychology, social work, family and child science or similar fields for this position. Interns work with the family advocate to assist with:

  • Administrative: Completing accurate filing and scanning of paperwork and data entry.
  • Customer Service: Communicate and make calls to families and organizations.
  • Case Management: Attend and assist with meetings, home visits, and complete document retrieval and submission.

Marketing, Graphic Design, Photography and Videography Interns

For this position, we are looking for candidates in business, marketing, or graphic design.

Interns work with the community affairs department to assist with:

  • Photo: Take and edit professional photos at all outreach events and within centers.
  • Video: Record videos of outreach events and center activities, posting edited videos.
  • Editorial: Design and edit marketing materials and documents (brochures, flyers, reports, etc.)
  • Marketing: Create new advertising ideas (ads, campaigns, website and social media pages, etc.).
  • Promotional Activities: Event planning, fundraising, and promotion of outreach events.
  • Web Design and Social Media: Update Kids Incorporated website and social media sites, generate ideas for brochures and electronic newsletters.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Kids Incorporated volunteers provide an extra pair of hands in our centers, read to our children regularly, support our team and help with signature events like Thanks for Reading, Holiday Happiness, and Kidsfest.

Volunteers in these childcare jobs must be at least 12 years of age and meet the standards set forth by the Department of Children and Families (DCF). Those not completing hours for school credit will be limited to 10 hours per month of direct service with the children, in accordance with DCF regulations.
