EARLY HEAD START
We provide affordable comprehensive family services including childcare that is responsive to your child’s individual needs.
Through low teacher to child ratios (1:4) and small class sizes, Kids Incorporated’s Early Head Start Program individualizes the curriculum to ensure each child’s learning plan is based on their developmental level.
We focus on meaningful relationships and interactions in infant and toddler learning. Small groups allow for primary care giving and continuity of care, which supports children in developing nurturing relationships and achieving goals.
What is EARLY HEAD START?
The Early Head Start Program is a comprehensive, affordable comprehensive family services program designed to reinforce and respond to the unique strengths of each individual child and family we serve.
We utilize the research-based curriculum – The Creative Curriculum for Infants, Toddlers and Twos. Activities are planned based on each child’s individual development and intended to target skills and set goals for the children to achieve as they grow and develop.
The foundation for this curriculum is play-based, recognizing that children learn through play and interactions with their teachers, classmates and environment.
INCLUSION POLICY
Kids Incorporated is equipped to serve the needs of every family, including those whose children have special needs. Because a minimum of 10% of the children served at our childcare centers have special needs, it’s not unusual for therapists (speech, occupational and physical) to be in the classroom working with these students one-on-one on a regular basis.
Other volunteers, such as graduate students from FSU’s Center for Autism & Related Diseases do their practicums at one of our centers, working with a child on the autism spectrum.
Children with special needs are automatically moved to the top of the waiting list for child care. If you have any questions about your child’s needs and situation, please call 850-414-9800.
